First of all may we thank everyone that attended the EGM today in support of the association. As stated in the meeting, today saw no ‘wins or victories’ for the sport we love.

The result from todays EGM is that your committee going forward will comprise of:

Who will look to co-opting other members promptly in order to rebuild a working committee to move forward.

As the EGM is now just over a week away please find attached a pre-registration form that will allow us to ensure we are prepared for the numbers arriving.

The committee can confirm that Newark Showground (Lady Eastwood Building) has provisionally been booked for the 4th December 2022 to host the EGM.

Registration will be from 9.00am with the meeting scheduled to start at 10.00am.

As the timeframe only provides a very small window of opportunity allowing us to comply with our rules with regards to announcing the venue etc, this booking is on the proviso that, following further discussions, the venue is suitable to accommodate our requirements in full for hosting an EGM.  
 

The BFA Committee can confirm that the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) will take place on Sunday 27th November 2022 at Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa, Bromley Cross, Bolton, Greater Manchester, BL7 9PZ. Registration from 9.30am with the EGM starting at 10am. The agenda of the EGM is that a number of rule breaches have occurred by the committee with regards to the handling of complaints as well as the application of other committee processes which has now led to the committee being unable to function within it's normal boundaries

 

As many of you will be aware, confirming a venue for the EGM is proving difficult. I have exhausted every option I can think of from school halls, conference centres to equestrian centres in the centre of the UK (Lancashire and surrounding areas). The rules state that an EGM must be held in the centre of the UK, Stoneleigh is not central to the UK but is fairly central demographically. 

As our association is membership lead I am asking the membership for your opinion, as ultimately without you there is no association.

I feel as the Secretary of your Association it is important that I keep you all updated with as much information as possible regarding the current situation. I am more than aware there is much concern and unrest within our community.
